Melissa Ylst “aisle-st” is a Certified Social Worker. She is skilled in the assessment and treatment of mental health conditions in children and adolescents. A primary emphasis of Melissa’s approach to treatment is creating a safe and nurturing environment where clients can develop healthy coping skills and lasting behavior change. Melissa is trained at utilizing a variety of effective treatment approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Play Therapy. She engages creatively with both parent and child, utilizing a team approach in order to accomplish treatment goals together.
During her career, Melissa has benefited from a diversity of experiences at the Utah County Jail as well as the Children’s Justice Center. She has greatly enjoyed the treatment she has done with individuals and families from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultural identities. Because of this, Melissa has developed a deep passion for treating children and adolescents from all walks of life. She loves being a therapist and strives to provide personalized treatment for each client.
When Melissa isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her family playing video games and going on road trips. She loves playing with her French Bulldog, Rudy. Melissa has lived in Utah most of her life and will probably never leave because of all the great camping spots. In her free time, you can find her exploring the outdoors, experimenting in the kitchen, or watching scary movies. Melissa is a new mother to four beautiful houseplants.
